Finally saw Prometheus. I think it amuses the husband that one of the first things I do after seeing an interesting movie is run over to the AO3 archive to see what's what in the fandom. Amused, but not surprised that the barely there, first to die pair of guys are the main pairing du jour. Did quite like this fic though:

Finally saw The King's Speech. It's a great movie, lots of great acting, but really, ( I was mostly amused by the actor bingo. )

+The Great Porn Experiment of 2010 seems to finally be tapering off, thank god. (Damn you, porn battle!) I've started a third installment, but so far it is porn-free. Well, mostly. Lol. There's just all this...talking! I think the insanity has passed. Phew.

+ Inception was...awesome. Great characters (the most important thing, no?) and interesting world. Go see it. And then read kellifer_fic 's little ficlet ' remember how you got here' (Ariadne with bits of Ariadne/Arthur). I swear, Kellifer is just incapable of getting a character voice wrong.

My unpopular opinions (proceed at your own risk):

The fact that Avatar is nominated for an Oscar for Best Picture and very well will win does not surprise me, but it does embarrass and disgust me. And as I have refrained from ever going into someone's journal and harshing their squee about said movie (no matter how tempting), I would appreciate ( Read more... )

I'm a Trek fan. Not a true diehard one, but rather of the variety that had adolescent crushes simultaneously on Wesley Crusher and Jean Luc Picard and has seen every episode of Voyager multiple times. So I went in familiar with the Star Trek universe, but not so invested that I was sure to hate any liberties taken. ( And this is what I thought about it. Spoilers. )
