+The Great Porn Experiment of 2010 seems to finally be tapering off, thank god. (Damn you, porn battle!) I've started a third installment, but so far it is porn-free. Well, mostly. Lol. There's just all this...talking! I think the insanity has passed. Phew.

het_reccers is hosting their biannual Shipper Manifesto challenge this month. They are still accepting sign ups until the 20th! Basically you pick a pairing, write a blurb about why they are awesome, and then rec at least ten fics. I have snagged Sam/Jack and have been having a lot of fun coming up with recs and such. It's a great comm because it's the place to hit first when you have interest in a new pairing but don't even know where to start. (I still need a great Aliens Made Them Do It fic for my manifesto though. Suggestions?)
+There's great Food Makes Them Do It fic though in case you somehow missed it.
Safe Distance by
holdouttrout Go read now! (Sam/Jack, Mature)
+I also read an awesome CJ Cregg runs for president with an all woman campaign team fic, but I have totally misplaced the link! Anyone?
Here it is! +Haven! I love Audrey Parker like whoa. Where is all the Audrey/Duke fic? They haz chemistry, yo. And I know this probably sounds funny coming from a ship whore like me, but I like the platonic partners relationships. Mary and Marshall on In Plain Sight used to be my favorite platonic partner couple until the show screwed that to hell. I am sure Audrey and Nathan won't last either. Lol.
+Watching Rizzoli and Isles and quite enjoying it. They are both such interesting characters!
+Saw Scott Pilgrim last night. I laughed so hard. It was really well done, but Wallace and Knives really stole the whole damn show. (Ok, time for Wallace taking Knives under his wing and taking over the world together fic.)
+Rented 'Dirty Pretty Things' last week. I mean, Chiwetel Ejiofor? I'd watch anything with him in it. Throw in Audrey Tautou, and an awesome performance by Sophie Okonedo? I mean, it was a weird movie, don't get me wrong. The whole thing was filmed like a tv commercial or something, with no music or cinematic scope, but it sort of fit the gritty subject of the underworld of illegal aliens in London. Plus, the line at the end makes the whole damn movie worth it: "How come I've never seen you people before?" "Because we are the people you do not see. We are the ones who drive your cabs. We clean your rooms. And suck your cocks." I love it when a plan comes together.
+Finally saw the Harry Potter trailer. Holy mother of snark, is it November yet? What about now? (Wait, that would mean it was NaNo time. Eep!)
+Oh, oh, oh! And the
fourth Lady Julia Grey book is coming out in October! *bounces* I haven't been excited and sitting around for a new book to be released in a while! Eeeeee!
