There are many of you on my flist who are posting lists about the past decade. I'm simply AMAZED! I can hardly remember what I did last week, let alone a DECADE's worth of events (both big and little, exciting and mundane). I have highlights (mostly travel), but even those I remember the year's wrong. My memory is really, really liquid. For good and bad.
Anyway, my brother and I decided a few years ago that we'd keep track of the number of books we read vs. the number of movies. The reasoning being that one should read more books than they see movies -- and in doing so, feel more educated. Ha ha. Since neither of us have children, we haven't discussed how many PBs = movie. And short stories don't count unless you read the entire collection; just like watching 15 mins of a movie then abandoning it doesn't count either. (It's our game and we'll make the rules as we like! LOL) Oh, one more thing! If you reread the same book more than one time in a year, it doesn't count as a new read, and rewatching the same movie in the same year doesn't count either. I've marked those with "x2" where applicable. :D
The list of movies I watched this year (in watching order):

I actually feel respectable with both numbers. I saw
robinellen read 247 books this year. I can't even fathom that number. My habits are roughly 3 books/2 movies per month. It works for me. Also, if you have a rec that's not on the list above but you think matches my tastes, please share. :D
