Drive-by movie review

SNOW CAKE starring Alan Rickman, Sigourney Weaver, Carrie-Anne Moss, Emily Hampshire and Callum Keith Rennie. 4.5 / 5

I'm very glad we rented this movie from Netflix. It's a very "small" indie film, shot in Wawa, Ontario, Canada, with strong performances from all the actors. ( Spoilers )

So it's good for screencaps AND viewing? ;-) Awesome.

The screencaps were what made me put it on my Netflix queue. SQUEEE :D

Hey, yours and mine should get together sometime soon, eh?:)

Yes, yes they should. Let me know when you wanna do it, and I'll make myself available.

Hmmm, well, whenever you want is fine with me. If Lisa comes up with something interesting, I'll have Terry jump in. Remember, it's one week before Christmas in game time (eeep!). So probably something Christmasy :D

I loved this movie. This was the one that won Alan Rickman a permanent place in my heart forever. It truly took my breath away, and made me cry.

It was a beautiful, nuanced performance. I admit to shedding a few tears now and then.

The town where this movie was filmed? LESS THAN 4 HOURS FROM MY TOWN!! And no one told me.

Dear. God. I would have been all over Rickman and Weaver like white on rice.

This was released in September 2006 and probably filmed in March/April of that year. Were you 4 hour away then too?

Must say I thought of you and idea_of_sarcasm immediately when I Googlemapped the town.

Hells yep. Have lived in Thunder Bay forever. Wawa is driven through EVERY time we hit up Toronto. Wawa has a Giant fiberglass Goose statue :)

We sort of thought that was a gigantic Canada goose statue. It shows up several times in the film.

*shields eyes from spoilers*

I love the way Canadians put 'eh?' after everything. The South Africans do 'hey?'

Isn't it the best? I got it a year or so ago, and watch it over and over. I love her little quirks.
