i. It's the end of January and of course the flu season finally caught up with me. Ugh. I wonder if there will ever be a winter when I won't be sick. Maybe if I moved to someplace warm and sunny...
ii. My aunt and cousin-in-law (I suppose there really is no such term) came to visit on the weekend and it was a lot of fun to show them my pretty new neighbourhood. We went to see the
Kandinsky exhibition at the Lenbachhaus and Kunstbau on Sunday and spent most of the day there. It was exhausting, but also fascinating and one of the most thought-provoking art exhibitions I have ever seen. The permanent "Blue Rider" exhibition was wonderful as well, particularly because it contains one of my favorite paintings by Franz Marc:
Gelber Tiger.
iii. I seem to have forgotten the password to my tax return file and now I will have to do the whole boring thing all over again. This tax software is supposed to make my life easier! The thing is, I am pretty sure I never chose a password in the first place. Oh well... The good old paper days, where have they gone.
iv. I need to buy a different brand of laundry detergent. The last one makes my laundry smell badly. What kind of idiots produce funny-smelling laundry detergent?!
v. Also, while Grey's has long ago lost me with the whole Izzie/Ghost! Denny debacle, last week's episode made me cry. To me, Ellen Pompeo is one of the most underappreciated TV actresses - that scene at the end blew me away. The episode also confirmed quite clearly to me why I am so opposed to the death penalty. Oh, Grey's - it could be so great and yet in some ways it's also one of the worst shows on TV right now.
