Back before cell phones and computers, the worst technology disaster we faced was the rabbit ears on the TV getting a little bent out of shape.
No, scratch that. Even bent rabbit ears went on working!
I'm glad the tech fairy has remembered your address. I know the last thing you wanted to be thinking of right now is shopping for a new computer! (Though I also think your SU is kind of super cool and capable. ;))

(Though I also think your SU is kind of super cool and capable. ;))Yeah, if it weren't for him, I probably wouldn't even have a computer. ;) Though we're still having trouble getting the McAfee to load, so there's still a possibility that he may be doing the wipe and reload thing all over again next weekend. *sob

Good to know! I'll toggle on the IP protection part of my Malwarebytes anti-malware program to keep track of what's happening on tvtattle. Since that's my only TV news round-up site these days I'd hate to lose it - but I can't afford to get felled by virii!
I'm right there with you babe, on being a techno idiot. Just hope I don't corrupt my PC soon. I am going to try to get a drive to back the hard drive up but have to ask the Geek Squad about it. Probably will have Momcat09 or my other source to assist if I run into difficulties. Still haven't gotten the scanner to work. I'm afraid if I mess around too much with it, I will really screw it up. Also I think I need to take the housing off and clean out the interior. Wish me luck.
Computers... gotta love 'em...!momcat09March 2 2010, 02:52:55 UTC
They're wonderful when they work, and mystifying, aggravating, and downright annoying when they don't... Ann_tara, I'm not gonna weigh in 'cause you already have high-caliber help and if he can't sort it out, I won't be able to...
Vala3, if you want, gimme a yell when you wanna do the backup; class is over for the nonce...
