Yeah, if it weren't for him, I probably wouldn't even have a computer. ;) Though we're still having trouble getting the McAfee to load, so there's still a possibility that he may be doing the wipe and reload thing all over again next weekend. *sob*
But, for now, it's working. I'm just not going too many places that I don't trust, and I deleted a shit-load of sites from my Favs this morning, especially old fan sites. Also dumped TVTattle - I think that may be the site that screwed me up. Whatever changes they made to that site a few months ago, which I wasn't crazy about anyway, I think it left it open to viruses. I remember one time a couple months ago the IE wouldn't even allow me to open the site because something was going on and it came up with a warning. I dumped the link, then about a month later I tentatively checked it out and it seemed to be working fine, no warning bells. But now I don't know - just not taking any chances with it anymore.
Good to know! I'll toggle on the IP protection part of my Malwarebytes anti-malware program to keep track of what's happening on tvtattle. Since that's my only TV news round-up site these days I'd hate to lose it - but I can't afford to get felled by virii!
