I see Canada is getting SGA months early again. I'll never understand why Sci Fi lets Canada show the episodes so much earlier than they're going to air them in the US. Of course, I don't mind getting spoiled for the episodes before seeing them - and I can wait until March to actually watch them because there's too much to keep up with now anyway. However, after reading the reviews for The Return Pt II, I was instantly reminded why I stopped reading episode reviews for the first part of the season. Seriously, if I wanted to stay unspoiled for the episodes, I could still read almost every ep review and look at all the screencaps because it's not like I'm going to get a full accurate description of the actual episode. If it doesn't involve Rodney, it's not important it seems - and being the John!gal that I am, I almost never know if John's in the episode as anything more than a cameo appearance until I get to see it for myself. Also, not at all happy to read
this bit of season four casting news either. Not surprising, but not welcome by this viewer. Really, I could have waited in ignorant bliss for a few more months before seeing that.
New Jericho tonight, but no new Bones. I'm actually bummed about the latter because I've really thoroughly enjoyed the series this season. I think it's hit its stride, and when we start getting new episodes again, I've decided to watch Bones real time and dvr Jericho instead of vice versa as I've done so far this season.
The Tritter arc on House is every bit as unrealistic and OTT as the Vogler arc in season one. It's insane. There's nothing remotely believable about what Tritter is getting away with doing to House and everyone he knows. That being said, I do like seeing a little strain put upon the House/Wilson marriage because it only serves to show how gay the relationship is.
House is like the poster child for hurting most the ones you love. Was that really regret I saw in House's face after he punches out Chase in the next episode? Chase angst - wheeeeeeee! I suppose a House/Chase hug is out of the question. *koff* ;)
Like everyone else, I'm very excited about the upcoming cast additions to Heroes (sounds like the show is the "IT" place to get cast on this year), and I thought this week's Homecoming was a damn exciting episode. Really a welcome change of pace to be watching a show that will deliver answers fairly quickly and still manage to tantalize the audience with ever more questions about the heroes and the future of the story line. Right now the only part of the story line that's dragging for me is the ikiN/DL/Micah arc, and gratefully they were only a very minor part of the episode this week. On the flip side, no one is more gobsmacked than I that Cheerleader Claire has quickly become the most interesting character and story.
I really love her friendship with openly gay Zach, and I was practically cheering myself to find out that Zach organized all the freaks and outcasts to sweep Claire into position as the Homecoming Queen. He was right, the popular kids are dwarfed in numbers by everyone else and that's the way it's always been. However, the rest of "us" don't normally band together as they did at Claire's school. We always hang out in smaller freak cliques. Still, it was a nice fantasy. ;)
Speaking of surprise reactions, I'd never have predicted that Prison Break's Sara Tancredi would turn out to be one ass-kicking queen. I bow to her. :)
I was really getting worried there because at the end of last week's episode I couldn't for the life of me imagine how Sara was going to get out of her predicament in the tub. HUGE sigh of relief on my end when she unplugged the tub with her teeth and was able to wriggle out of her binds while Kellerman was busy with the motel manager. Then she gets the jump on Kellerman with a hot iron to the chest! YOW! That's gonna leave a mark. ;) Though I think I would have kept swinging that iron against his head until he was dead, but we couldn't have that because Kellerman really is a fascinating, even charming, adversary, much like T-Bag, except no where near as skeevy as T-Bag. Then Sara tops off her escapade by not only plunging out the window onto Kellerman's car, but stitching up her own wounds in what looked like a VERY painful process. Yes, she is worthy of Michael - may they eventually reconnect and live happily ever after, producing many pretty kick-ass babies. ;)
The Papa Burrows twist came out of left field though, and too quickly too late because his death and Michael's OTT reaction simply didn't register emotionally true. I don't understand why they had to kill off Papa Burrows anyway. Weird.
After everything Kellerman has done, what a testament to his characterization that I could end up feeling sorry for him at the end as Kim is erasing his existence into virtual oblivion. What will he do now?
Mahone is NOT going to pull that trigger on Michael and Linc. I LOVE the previews with Michael calling him "Alex" and telling him he's going to have to look Michael and Linc in the eyes if he intends to shoot them. Oh, Alex, you know you can't shoot your Luvah! I'm glad the "fall hiatus" was cut short and that the show will be back sooner rather than later after next week.
Last night's pre-pre-Thanksgiving feast came out pretty good. Tonight The Spousal Unit and the two Offspring will head downtown for the Magic game. The Spousal Unit has made two pies for tomorrow's dinner, and tonight I'll make the deviled eggs and pineapple casserole.
Two of the three Starbucks in the immediate vicinity have run out of peppermint and are awaiting shipments. A limited supply of peppermint mochas this early in the season is almost a disaster!
You know what really gets you in the holiday mood? Keeping the Food Network on in the background.
Happy Thanksgiving to all my American buds. :D
