soooo life is pretty boring lately, workin the usual stuff, nothing exciting.
i've been playing a lot of poker lately, and for my own sake i wanted to vent that i'm not gonna be that guy throwing all his money away in the casino til i'm homeless haha. i love the game; i would play for shits and giggles if i could. i have a good time calculating odds, reading players, making moves, and the overall thrill of the game. and in saying that, if i were to be negative in terms of money, i would slow the pace considerably in knowing how detrimental it would be to my well being. but, even after losing 100 dollars at the casino a few days ago, i'm up over 200 dollars the last 6 times i've played. i went out on limbs because i had won over 150 the night before, and it was all in good fun. i just wanted to settle my own jumbled thoughts and vent a little bit for my own peace of mind.
anyways, i'm only updating to see how well i can predict the outcome of this NFL season before it starts tonight. here we go:
AFC West: San Diego Chargers - Their division is a mess, easy take on their part.
AFC East: New England Patriots - Brady is back, no questions asked.
AFC North: Pittsburgh Steelers - The Ravens will give them a run for their money, but they take the division.
AFC South: Tennessee Titans - The Colts will challenge, but their defense is still too great to handle
AFC Wild Cards: Indianapolis Colts/Baltimore Ravens - Peyton will push his team to the playoffs, and Baltimore's defense will shine again.
NFC West: Seattle Seahawks - After a rough 2008, Hasselback will surprise and overtake the former divison champ Cardinals.
NFC East: New York Giants - Eli steps up and takes over the division by a hair
NFC North: Minnesota Vikings - Hall of fame QB, great running game, stellar defense; easy take for Minnesota
NFC South: Atlanta Falcons - Matt Ryan continues to impress, lifting just past the Saints for the division
NFC Wild Cards: Arizona Cardinals/Philadelphia Eagles - Arizona makes a late push, and the Eagles squeeze by the Cowboys for the last spot
AFC Championship - Patriots/Chargers
NFC Championship - Vikings/Eagles
Superbowl - Vikings/Patriots
Patriots take the cake in a 20-17 nailbiter to end the year.
It seems biased as a Pats fan for me to predict all this, but even from a neutral perspective I would be making the same picks. Defense is shaky, but we've had the offense lift us over that before and surely it's gonna happen again with brady back; and if he stays healthy, it's smooth sailing.
