Twilight Review
Howdy folks,
ok, so i saw the Twilight movie (srry to friends i said i'd see it with) and out of 10 as of this moment.............. i would give it... somewhere between 5-7, it depends on my mood =P. This is not becuz the movie didn't stay faithful to the book or anything (which, btw it mostly did), it's just that i dunno, the relationship between edward and bella didn't seem right.
The guy who plays edward was PEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEERFECT, end of story. Awesome, cant' say anything bad. He was quite enjoyable to watch. However, the girl who plays bella.... i was disappointed. she could've portrayed bella so much better... during exciting scenes, she's awesome, but during scenes where she's just with edward she gives off mixed emotions. It's like she can't decide on an emotion to portray so she tries to do all of them at once.
Anyways, the whole film seemed to be rushed. The opening was good, they opened it very nicely. But then when it started to get to the bella and edward moments, it started to get kinda awkward... they remained truthful to the book up until the meadow scene. Everything after that was rushed. Bam bam bam bam bam, then movie was over. they took out a lot of my favourite edward and bella moments, which to me, helped me feel that edward's and bella's relationship was truly developping and that they were trying to make it work. I dunno, it's really hard to explain.
In this movie, there were some scenes that i think they should've taken it slow and go more into detail. So what if it surpasses 2h? LotR did..... as long as the movie kicks ass, why not pass the 2h marker? Also, there were some scenes i would've done over. I think what pisses me off about this movie isn't that they took out my favourite scenes but more of... they cut out a lot of other characters' lines (like alice), thus gives a lack of character development for these characters, and i think they do this on purpose because they try to focus on edward's and bella's characters and their relationship WHICH is why i'm pissed off becuz although edward's character was PERFECT... and fine, bella's character was decent... since the movie cut out lines of the other characters to focus on edward's and bella's relationship... they SUCKED at trying to make their relationship real, cuz like i said, their relationship seemed empty. edward does seem like he would die for bella.... but not bella. THIS is my issue, it's just bella... gahhhhhh so hard to explain, u have to watch it.
Anyways, i'm tired, i'm gonna go sleep, maybe i'll give a better critique later. bb
