Round Three ; Planning Post
Funny story I forgot to post this. It was that & I am nervous. I feel like you guys are going to throw stones at me & be like "NO. ANIMAAAANNNNN. EVER!" BTW I WROTE THIS POST IN FUCKING AUGUST, IT'S NOVEMBER. WAY TO GO PAM. #takeonefortheteam

ROUND THREE PLANNING POST
I think it's time to plan this already. Supposedly sign-ups were going to go up in August but as some of you guys know I was internetless & going through a lot of shit irl so I wasn't able to post them. :/ Sorry. So instead we're going to plan AHEAD. As you all know by know round three will be a rumble. Maybe even round four, five too?. I wanted the round to have a set theme so I'm here to share my stupid ideas with you as well as to ask you guys a couple of important questions.
First off I need to know WHEN you guys want this round to start. I'm ready to mod this round & I think I can handle it atm. Basically I don't care when it starts BUT I know some of you guys may be busy with irl/school/work. Some of you guys have rested since round two ended but I also know that others haven't. :< So please pick a month that would work best for YOU. If there's enough interest to start up soon then it'll start soon. If not we will start some other time. :) I just want to plan this round out the best of my ability so it can go smoothly.

I've been meaning to ask this too but how would you guys feel on the addition of original mangaka artwork? This point was brought up to me 2 or 3 times last round & I thought it'd be best to address it. By original mangaka artwork I'm referring to illustrated artwork that is by mangakas but isn't part of any official anime or manga. Like Okama, Range Murata, Noizi Ito, Kaoru Fujiwara, Green Glass, etc. Obviously video game art will still be excluded. (UHHH ONE DAY? Sorry.)

Since it's going to be a rumble it'll mean that you can submit as much as you want without getting eliminated. I have no intentions of dq'ing you if you don't submit after a certain number of weeks, I don't care enough. :l Due to that I think it'll be a good idea to set a limit to how many people can sign up. (Like in 20in20s.) I say this because it may become overwhelming to sort through a voting post with a huge number of icons every week. So I ask this:

Alright this will be a tricky question. How long do you want it to be? I, personally, don't want it to be longer than 6 weeks. A 6+ week round would be too much at this moment. 8 weeks is DEFINITELY out of the question. I love the idea of a 4-5 week round. MOD SAYS FOUR PLEASEEEEEE.

OH & FINALLY. I just want to ask you this final question so we can move onto the ideas. Should we have identities? Idk, there are some advantages & disadvantages to having identities. If we use identities this round it'll mean that everything will be screened. That means no convos, no threading, nothing. IT'LL BE CLEAN? Everything will be kept a secret. (lol you all know how rumbles work by know amirite?
I, personally, don't want to use identities. It would be redundant because you will all figure out who is who by the end of 1st or 2nd challenge. I know you guys & you would all figure that shit out in a snap. If we don't do identities then we'll continue to work the way we always work every round. (Having convos, parties, random threads, spam posts, being awesome, etc. You know the drill.) I'd just make some terrible icons of your username for the sake of the tallies.
THERE IS THE OPTION OF PICKING LOL!OBVIOUS/FAKE IDENTITIES. Meaning you would have the opportunity of picking a not so secret identity. It'd be identities picked for shits & giggles. For example you could sign up under a fake name/thing/item, sign up as some other member You need permission for that tbh, sign up as your obviously favorite character, or you can sign up as some irl person. Idgaf, you can sign-up as anything & wouldn't have to keep it a secret...? Before you ask yes I'm bored & have nothing better to do & yes, don't worry my stupidity is almost done talking.

→ Non themed regular round.: This would just be a regular round. No theme. Nothing. The challenges would be like RD01's. That's it.
→ Hero TV.: THIS IS THE PRODUCT OF A SLEEPLESS NIGHT BACK IN JULY. Okay so if you've seen Tiger & Bunny you'd know that there's this tv program inside the anime in which the heroes compete for points, etc. It's a tv show called Hero TV. /ding Hero TV works the same way a rumble works. No really, it does. Wiki explains it as this: "Their heroic activity is broadcast on the popular television show "Hero TV", where they accumulate points for each heroic feat accomplished (arresting criminals or evacuating civilians, for example) and the best ranked hero of the season is crowned "King of Heroes". ". I think it'd be interesting to pick not so secret identities (you could make up your own super hero... ... ...) & compete for points. Like I'd have a bonus for "first one on the scene" which would reward points to the first person to submit an icon to the challenge post or be the first one to the voting post. There'd be a TON of ways to win points like in the show. Also every week there'd be a ~MVP winner besides the challenges winner, plus ranks, etc.
→ The Little Mermaid: I've been dying to do a round based on the fairy tale version of The Little Mermaid. Not the Disney one but the original Hans Christian Andersen tale. I'd LOVE to do this but I have no fucking clue HOW I can make it work. :/ I'm telling you I'm too dumb to make cool ideas work. ://// Which brings me to the next idea...
→ Red Riding Hood: Like above only with Red Riding Hood because that was my favorite fairy tale as a kid. /I obviously have issues.
→ Fairy tale round.: This part just proved how long this post has been written up for. :/ This idea was originally created from a convo I had w/ fee after I mentioned the above idea. (RIGHT? I DON'T REMEMBER FEE.) First off, this is ryfee's idea. I had an idea like this but, tbh, her's shat on mine. This was WAAAYYYYY before solo20in20 was created. I thought I'd let you know. Alright so after I told fee that I wanted to do a round based on The Little Mermaid she told me she wanted to participate in a round dedicated to fairy tails & that I should do it for animan. (SOLO WAS ONLY A THOUGHT BACK THEN, I NAGGED HER HARD SO SHE'D CREATE IT.) When she told me I decided that if I did it I would specifically use the really messed up ones. It was going to happen but fee FINALLY (after much begging & persuasion) went & created solo20in20 so I decided to throw this out. Basically I feel it'd be redundant to do this at this point. It's fee's idea & she is ttly rocking it @ her comm so I don't need to be lame & do it here. PLUS I AM TOO STUPID TO MAKE THIS WORK. I just thought I should tell you tho... the then possibility.
→ Colors round: It'd be a colors based round with ridiculous requirements. Like I'd make you use red & add dumb requirements. Not like "red = anger, grrrr make an angry icon. desu" but like sup use red, some texture/song/etc & interpret Red Riding Hood or w/e. Said requirements would be very very awful. I only want to do this because I have a terrible TERRIBLE idea for green that would either make you hate me or kiss the floor I walk on.
→ Skill restraint round: This is an idea I've had hidden for a couple of years, it'd be a round based on skill restraints & how you work around them. It'd be hard, I won't lie but I feel it'd be a really good iconning experience. This ida comes from back in '09 when I first saw theskilltester & I remember thinking it was fucking genius. (Still do.) Basically I'm a dick & have always wanted to hold a round here restraining you guys skillfully.
→ Team Battle round: Anime team vs. manga team vs. video game team. This is dumb. Let's move on.
→ lolohnvmd: Taken out, using this one for another comm I am making. Expect this idea next summer. ;D
