One of gddamn books came early. EARLY. And now I'm reading it.
But, mre importantly.
I got a card from my parents today with little stars etc in it (I opened it funny so I knew they had stuck em in there) and they wrote me the following poem:
Ode to Charley
Shy, solemn and unassuming
with a witty streak that is highly amusing
sometimes light but mostly dark
with a temper that ignites with a little spark
sometimes happy but mostly blue
all or nothing, loyal and true
likes her own space, takes that from her ma
a stubborn streak, just like her da
beautiful, clever, diffident and wild
my loving, complex, much loved "somewhat moody" child.
:-D:-D:-D:-D:-D:-D:-D
When I was in my....third year of primary school, a new teacher replaced the old one half way through. On parent/teacher night he told my parents that I didn't respect him (to which they said "well she wouldn't, you're practically the same age as her brothers and you have to earn her respect, she won't just give it to you") and then, ruffled, he said I was a somewhat moody child and my parents just laughed and told him that's just the way I was and that I wouldn't change that because he told me to. :-D I remember laughing at him the next day and he was surrised to note that they had told me what he'd said.
Good times.
