St. George for England and King Edward's right!

So this morning I've been doing the Stratford Ticket Shuffle, thanks to an absolutely horrifying rumor I saw on the SHAKSPER listserv that their production of Edward II, which doesn't even start previews for an entire month, has sold out its entire run already. The website seems to tell a different story, which I hope ardently to be the case, as I'm still a bit miffed about missing King John last year (okay, not really, but it was disappointing) and I shall be quite put out if I miss Edward.

An interesting wrinkle in the whole tale is that Stratford has just started this program where patrons under 30 can buy tickets to just about anything for $20. This is quite a wonderful thing, particularly as Edward is a studio production and as such the normal tickets are really more expensive than I can afford. Of course, it only applies to certain performances and they only start selling tickets to people in the program about two weeks beforehand, depending on availability, so if it's sold out none of this does me any good whatsoever. We shall see, I guess!

And now I am off to get my car fixed...
