First I want to apologize for disappearing and not replying on ANYTHING.... D8 Uuuuuugh [falls over] My time has been eaten up by last minute assignments. Don't get me wrong, I need the piece work/commissions I can get...poor starving artiist rings painfully true. However, needing things at the last minute makes me go >8( you know...I do sleep at night. So I'm going to apologize right away to Pen for the delay on your Big Bang print [bows]. But I have found a place that has promised good quality prints...and I don't have to face the slight embarrassment of facing a staff member that goes DDDDDD8 "is Captain America and that guy hugging?" Trust me...if I was still floating around my art school it wouldn't have been a problem...but alas the world is stupid.
Anyways, this brings me to an announcement...if any one else would like a High Quality 11"x17" art print of the work I did for the Cap/Ironman Reverse Bang...PM me and we'll work something out. I've decided to price it around 20-25$ and will be most likely be accepting payment through Paypal (providing I can get it to work). Now before you scream "!@#$% that's expensive..."
Please consider this: printing cost (roughly $10 for good quality at 11x17), shipping and handling to me (estimated $5 around including sales tax), quality checking by me, shipping to you in mailing tube (estimate $5)...right there is 20 bucks not counting my time. So, say I do charge 25 per print...considering how many hours I spent...36 hrs total from concept to finish.... Doing the math...Come on, I may not be the greatest artist, but I think I at least deserve 14 cents an hour right? Obviously it would be cheaper to print in bulk...which is why I ask if anyone wants to order so I can at least have an idea how many I should order. If you are interested, please PM me here at LJ or email angelinoshi [at] aol.com with the subject "Cap/Ironman" print" by DEC 30th.
Okay enough of that! Time for Marvel! I haven't had time to look at the latest comics this week, but there was one particular issue I wanted to talk about that surprisingly hasn't been brought up in the Cap/Ironman forum. So here we go with Thunderbolts #150.
If you haven't picked up this issue...please do. I admit, I don't read the T-Bolts, nor do I really plan to even continue since I bought this mainly for the "Big Three." That's right...I didn't make a mistake, I mean an actual honest to nerdyness...BIG THREE! Steve, Tony and Thor...in a comic together....that's not Avengers Prime...interacting with one another and being a team. I've harped before on how stupid it was for Marvel to push the idea of the "Big Three" and not have Steve do ANYTHING with Tony and Thor. Yeah, someone at Marvel at least realized...hmmm...yeah they do need to all be in panel sometime...and here we are.
HOW freaking beautiful is that?
That is exactly what I'm talking about Marvel....THIS is the kind of stuff I've been asking for.
So, essentially the story is that Luke Cage is the assigned leader of the T-Bolts who are well...I guess the best way to describe them is recovering supervillians who are placed in community service. Anyways, it's time for a check-up with three senior Avengers...and here we are...Commander Rogers, Ironman and Thor. Luke pretty much has had it with the T-Bolts and would like nothing more then to leave. However, Juggernaut, Ghost and Crossbones overhear this and know that without Cage the program would be scrapped and they would most likely go back to prison. Ghost devises a plan to escape, but things do not go as planned and they all wind up in some alternate dimension. I'm not going to spoil the story but I will say some very interesting things happen...most notably the water in this place....
!@#$ YEEEEEEEEES! Ahahhaa, I was so happy I almost cried 8D If this wasn't a sign that Steve needs to be Cap I have no idea what is. I love how Steve is portrayed in this issue. He isn't the badarse spy wanna-be that Brubaker keeps trying to push. Heck here is a mini spoiler....during the showdowns...Crossbones actually beats Steve up pretty good. I was freaking floored...non-Mary Sue!Steve...HOLY CRAP! At the very least...we have the acknowledgement Steve realizes his true self is Captain America. Bonus...Tony has an inner child...awwwwwww. And they way Tony fights Ghost....brilliant. THIS is the characterization I have when think of Tony Stark and Steve Rogers. This is how Avengers should be...too bad it's Thunderbolts huh.
Hopefully Marvel will see the positive reaction from this issue and give Steve back the uniform.
