Watched the documentary "King Corn" last night. Quite elucidating, yet in no way virulent or condescending. They did a great job of looking at the current state of affairs without placing much judgment. By the end of the movie, you have a sense of why and how corn has become ubiquitous in our diet without necessarily feeling guilty for it, or angry ( Read more... )

Do you remember, maybe 8 years ago, when we would joke that cow farts would be a major contributor to greenhouse gases?

It's funny how stuff like that comes true.

In the grand scheme it's not as significant as - oh I don't know - industry or transportation systems, but at least in the ag sector it is a noteworthy source of greenhouse gases.
