Hello! I have been much absent due to reeling in terror from return to school. Mr. Trufitt (True-fit) is scary. He insisted on telling us his entire life story at the beginning of class. The only maths I did in that lesson was to add up all the different jobs he'd had. But he seems ok, otherwise. Only, I think maybe MathsC might be a bit too easy. What am I saying? I KNOW. Bloody hell, everyone apart from me (and Anna) in the class had a problem with 7x+3=17. I banged my head discretely on the desk a few times.

Did I mention the crapness of my locker position. I hate you, scoober! And Bronwyn, too! Nice corridor, with carpet and ease of access. Me, I get stuck with a bottom locker on concrete - RIGHT next to the doors so I get whacked in the arse every time someone comes out. Luckily the person owning the locker above mine does not frequent it very much, but Caitlin is next to me and the girl above her tends to take up a lot of space.

I got mega-points in TSP when I told Mr. Ouchtomsky about my little video project. I think he likes me (=. Ms Peterson looks like a badger.

I spent most of RE chatting to Caitlin and Erica in the corner. Except Erica is deaf, so for chatting read 'scribbling notes to eachother in Caitlin's folder'. All the teachers had either good or mad ideas about how to learn everyone's name, but the RE teacher took the biscuit. We threw a stuffed Nemo around the room. Excitement.

Today we went shopping in Northland, apparently for Alice's birthday presents. Ha, like I was falling for that. I bought myself a video of Billy C, and dvds of Forrest Gump and Robin Williams (stand-up) Live all of which are patiently waiting for me to watch them. Also, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, Quidditch Through the Ages and Sweet Liberty, Cara Dillon's old album, because I like the song 'There Were Roses' and wanted to have it for my listening pleasure.

Played Robin Hood on Playstation2 with Alice and succeeding in loosing spectacularly in a sword fight with Nottingham. I was pissed off that some randy-looking Knight got control of Cambridge while I got Suffolk. The unfairness wounds. (Though not as much as Nottingham's sword, apparently). I won't be trying that for a while until I calm down.

I am VERY VERY happy with this! *laughs insanely* Well, Chewbacca makes me squirm (though I'm sure he's very nice, very, very deep down) but Sirius!Nemo!Jack!Yay! (I am discounting the movie-only part at the top. Sirius will always and forever be J.K's.)

My song for you this evening, it's not to make you sad
Nor for adding to the sorrows of our troubled northern land
But lately I've been thinking and it just won't leave my mind
I'll tell you of two friends on the time who were both good friends of mine

Isaac he was Protestant and Sean was Catholic born
But it never made a difference, for the friendship it was strong
And sometimes in the evening when we heard the sound of drums
We said it won't divide us, we will always be as one

There were roses, roses
There were roses
And the tears of a people ran together

It was on a Sunday morning when the awful news came round
Another killing had been done just outside Newry Town
We knew that Isaac danced up there, we knew he liked the band
But when we heard that he was dead we just could not understand

Now fear it filled the countryside there was fear in every home
When late at night a car came prowling round the Ryan Road
A Catholic would be killed tonight to even up the score
Oh Christ it's young McDonald they have taken from the door

There were roses, roses
There were roses
And the tears of a people ran together

I don't know where the moral is or where this song should end
But I wonder just how many wars are fought between good friends
And those who give the orders are not the ones to die
It's Scott and young McDonald and the likes of you and I

There were roses, roses
There were roses
And the tears of a people ran together

There were roses, roses
There were roses
And the tears of a people ran together

-There Were Roses, Cara Dillon
