This past weekend and Monday bank holiday was the Notting Hill carnival, 2008.  It was literally just two streets over but I didn't want to be part of it when the news crews started showing yobs and kids making a fuss.  In the end, I just listened to the police cars come screaming by and the helicopters overhead all day.

Yesterday and today, I cycled in to work.  It's supposed to be only 5 miles but my route tacks on another half mile since I avoid the main roads.  I take it slow, so my trip is 40 minutes or less door to door each way... same time as taking public transport and there are never any delays.
