It seems like I've been waiting forever for book two -- the amount of control authors have over this, btw, is in negative numbers -- but it's finally out and all three of the Smoke books are now available in ebook format.

I've noticed that the last four of the Confederation series are available in e-format, but not the first one.

I understand your lack of control over e-publication but wonder if you have heard if _Valor's Choice_ will be available in e-format?

I hope you don't mind my asking here, but I've been wondering, for a couple years now, if there will be more Valor books eventually. I haven't been able to find anything on your blog (which may be entirely the fault of my search skills) that says one way or the other.

You pretty much decided I wasn't going to answer this, hadn't you? Sorry about that.

I am currently working on a new Torin Kerr book. I can't call it a Valor book because, if you've read Truth, you know there were some major changes in her job description. Right now we're calling the series (hopefully at least three books) the Peacekeepers but we don't have title on book one yet.

Any word on Valor's Choice (or the volume with books 1 & 2 together) as e-book? I check on Amazon and Barnes and Noble several times a week and each time I click on the 'tell publisher I want to read on kindle / nook' links. This seems to be the pattern with many (though not all) series -- they get all the books in the series in e-book format EXCEPT the first. Very frustrating!

I'm still getting "working on it" when I ask. Part of the problem is, many of the first books in series, being the oldest book in the series, were contracted before ebooks were part of the standard contract so they have to wind their slow way through legal and contracts and from editor to agents and back again. Also, time being limited, companies will work to get the most recent books out before older books which means, unfortunately, that it's often the earlier books in series that keep sliding back on the "we have to get to this" schedual.
