Yesterday was awful awful awful.  We left at 5AM as planned, but just a few hours into the trip we blew a tire.  Troy had to lay in the rain and wet ground to get the spare from underneath the van and get it on.  Then we had to search for a tire place (in a town where no one seemed to know their left from their right, literally) and wait to be able ( Read more... )

It was overcast and off and on rainy all day, but we still managed to have tons of fun!  Early in the morning we dropped Fynn and Troy off at Critter Fleet for their half day fishing excursion.  The girls and I spent the morning at the house playing and packing and doing laundry.  At noon we picked them up (they caught a few fish and a shark!) First thing in the morning....well, after bacon and eggs....we went to Daytona to play on the beach.  Again, the water was perfect and the waves were thrilling fun!  The tide was out but left some fabulous tide pools for us to lay and play in.  Troy, Fynn and Clover tried to build sand castles but Audrey wanted to knock them down ( Read more... )

this morning nana made eggs and bacon for breakfast before heading out with mimps for therapy.  troy and i got the kids ready and piled in the car to go south to titusville.  we arrived at the space park about an hour before the launch and found a spot.  it was super crowded and getting hot, but luckily we were in some shade ( Read more... )

we made it to florida!  the drive down was fantastic.  fynn and clover had some moments of discontent, but overall there was a lot less whining and complaining than i'd anticipated.  audrey was amazingly easy, rarely requiring any attention at all.  she would either sleep, watch part of a video (usually taking the headphones off and watching ( Read more... )

We left early Tuesday morning for Grundy VA to visit Ronelle's neices. We made it through Cincinnati without the crazy traffic I ran into last time I headed south...leaving an hour earlier really made a difference! Thursday night I had the van all packed up. I'd sent the kids to bed wearing pajamas that could work for comfy traveling clothes the next morning. All I had to do was pack up the cooler and put the kids in their seats.
