and off we go........to florida!
we made it to florida! the drive down was fantastic. fynn and clover had some moments of discontent, but overall there was a lot less whining and complaining than i'd anticipated. audrey was amazingly easy, rarely requiring any attention at all. she would either sleep, watch part of a video (usually taking the headphones off and watching without the audio), snacking, or playing with the mini-magnadoodle. oh, and she would entertain herself by playing with her hands and feet too, just giggling away. so sweet and such a pleasure!
yesterday, on the drive down to georgia i was browsing my new ikea catalog and going on and on about how excited i was to go to ikea next spring. he mentioned that if there was an ikea anywhere it would be atlanta (about 2 hours from where we were) and sure enough there was! happy sweetest day to me!! it took me the first hour to figure out how the store worked (showroom/marketplace/etc) but the older kids did spend about an hour in the play area which was nice! i left having only spent $15 but my wish list includes over $1500 worth. eeek!
after swimming and resting at the motel, we woke up this morning and went to the warner-robins air force base to their museum. fynn got to see his favorite plane, the P51 Mustang, and also do a Iwo Jima mission on a flight simulator.
during a quick stop at a gas station fynn stepped on a fire ant nest and all three kids and troy were bit. audrey got it the worst with about a dozen bites on her legs....troy had a bunch on his hands from trying to get the ants off everyone and get their shoes off. fynn had a few on his legs and clover had a single bite on her leg. clover was officially freaked out for a very long time worried that they were crawling on her. all of the bites are gone and no one had any itching or lasting pain. thankfully.
we listened to the first half of the bengals/jets game on the sirius radio on the way down and i was depressed, barely excited to get to the bar. but at halftime we arrive to pick up nana and mimps and headed over to mulligans. we walked in and the first person we saw was in a bengals jersey and hat. whodey!! turns out he was the only other cincinnati fan there, but oh well. the game turned out to be awesome and exciting and the food was fantastic. mimps "shared" a pitcher of killians with me though i'm pretty sure i had 3/4.
i don't have any idea what we'll do tomorrow. definitely a visit to the beach....maybe just that. ahhh. i'm ready to relax :-)
