I got my ceramic owl icon out because I'm spending Christmas in beautiful Santa Fe. Actually I'm in a big casino north of Santa Fe in the Pojoaque Indian Reservation, but my hotel is not attached so I actually haven't set foot in the casino yet. The rest of the vacation was nice and relaxing. We took it easy on Wednesday and Thursday because we got sick. We did drive up to Mount Shasta which was spectacular. By Friday everybody has recovered and we went on a hike to McCloud Falls. Alex absolutely loved it. We had lots of fun today. We went to Lake Siskiyou which is a man-made lake that dammed the Sacramento River thus creating a reservoir. It had a wonderful beach and relatively shallow swimming area. We're here, at McCloud, in a bed and breakfast with trains. Our room is a caboose! To say the least, it's pretty exciting for Alex, although he's still adjusting to the change in environment. We got back last night from spending three days holed up in the snowy Yosemite National Park. We had a great time! We rented a nice cabin high up in a development of sorts called Yosemite West high up from the valley floor. I think our cabin is at 5700ft whereas the valley is at about 4000ft.
