annie: i suppose being amazing does come at a price.
so all state orchestra auditions were last saturday. We got the results yesterday. Annie, as a freshman, made 3rd chair behind two seniors in 1st and 2nd. She also beat out every single other person from her school. that's pretty cool.
Win-Win Situation J2 fandom again. I just about died laughing while reading this. no, literally. I was choking i was laughing so hard. R down towards the end, but on the way there it's hilarious. (part two, like there aren't links at the bottom of the page for you, which resolves the sexual tension and is really very hot.)
How the Writers' Strike Stole Christmas (and Jared Gave it Back) this is. i'm not really sure. but it's got a few gorgeous lines, and is a decent read.
annie has another fire emblem game, so i'm all set :Dv
spent most of the day out in one hardware store or another looking at vanities, and sinks, and faucets, and showerheads, and light fixtures, and i kind of wanted to die. or take a nap. it was great. :\ we actually got kicked out of the last one because they closed while we were there. it was nice having the person helping us at the last one be a woman, though, because she was better at helping us pull a bathroom together from scratch, and she also thought in terms of 'can i clean it?' which none of the men mentioned because they are lazy asses.
mum came home and is out cold on the couch.
found out today that annie used to think fingernail clippers were a chinese thing, because growing up she'd only ever seen chinese people using them and because we always bought ours at chinese flea markets. she was apparently really surprised when her american strings teacher new about them. HOW IS SHE SO stupidCUTE?
we ate at Generations, and it was tasty and totally affordable and huge (tell me why i want to move to the metro area again?) even though all i got was a BLT (it was really, really good btw. double decker, egg, two kinds of cheese, and bacon, lettuce and tomato). also had a corona, which i had to pass around the table for people to steal sips.
it started snowing around five and was really coming down! annie had school canceled today because we got 3 or so inches overnight, and she's hoping for a repeat (but maybe with more snow)
