Can I get an

The syntax is done! Problem 2 broke my brain. That's when I wrote the last lj entry, and putzed online and talked with aliza and ate a third of a pita with hummus. I literally could not finish the thing right away. But then I came back, and despite trying it earlier, this time something magically clicked into place (which always seemed to happen with my theoretical classes. Things magically clicked into place all through my A in phonology [which remains one of my favourite classes evar]), and I could answer the last question. There's a massive change in writing style from problem 2 and problem 3 though. They're both kinda didactic, cause i'm like that (it doesn't help that he asked us to explain things), but the first one is like "professor giving a lecture" didactic, and the second one is "nikki explaining some cool lx thing to her friends" didactic.

I was going to write my host parents an email, but my brain is still pretty non-existant, so I think I'm not. I hope to someday be as good at reading Japanese as I am at English. But I think that's a bit fanciful even for me, so maybe I'll wish to be half as good at Japanese as I am at English. Because with English, sometimes I think reading is more natural than breathing. Sometimes you have to think about breathing, but I read things before I even realize that I'm reading.

Oh, and I just killed a huge silverfish in the bathroom. I just finished my shower, and am, like, blind because of course my glasses are off. And I see this brown blob crawling across the floor. Which means it must be a VERY BIG whateveritis because I CAN SEE IT without my glasses on. Luckily, it wasn't a spider, or I wouldn't have killed it. I would have screamed. A lot. And maybe run around flailing and screaming. um. yeah.
And then probably the giant spider would have eaten me to make me shut up.

lx 2, nikki no baka, japanese 2, i don't even know what to call this tag, eigo, school 2, kaa-san-tachi
