I rediscovered this old favorite of mine while playing Rock Band on New Year's Eve. God, I loved The Offspring. Most of their songs (like this one) are fucking depressing, but they are just so addicting. I had quite the crush on Dexter Holland for a while. Does he remind anybody else of Zell Dincht?

I put Rosenrot in the CD player the other day, and my God, I was reminded yet again just how full of win "Wo bist du?" is. The raw, bleeding emotion in it is enough to make one cry, and it's indeed brought a tear to my eye once or twice. OMG, I love it. I love it, I love it, I love it. Richard has a very nice voice, and his vocal range is quite impressive. The songs themselves aren't boring, either. I was listening to Rammstein's "Wilder Wein" the other day, and I was reminded just how strongly some of their songs come across. I mean, Till Lindemann is a really talented poet and lyricist, and all of their songs are lyrically creative, but some of them have a particularly strong impact. ( Read more... )
