I rode home in a tow truck today. Mom's van just up and died in the middle of the road. Luckily, she has roadside assistance with her car insurance, so it didn't cost anything to have it towed to her mechanic.

I don't work tomorrow. On one hand, it's nice to get the holiday off, but on the other hand, I'll be missing out on holiday pay (time-and-a-half). Boo. I guess I can't complain too much, though. I worked on Memorial Day and got holiday pay then.

BTW, here is the cover of that Star Wars book I mentioned in my last entry. Isn't Luke so kyoot?

Blarg. I could really use a vacation. If only I had enough vacation time accrued. :(

Also, worrying about money is really depressing.

I really wish my sister and her family would start living within their means. Mom says it's not really my business, but when they're constantly borrowing money, not paying it back when they say they will, and--here's the clincher--putting us in danger of bouncing checks, then yeah, I'd say it's my business.

Guh. They're cutting hours at work again. I've already lost about five hours so far this week. This does not bode well for my next paycheck...

On the bright side, this weekend my mom is gonna pay me what she owes me for the stroller we gave my sister as a joint present. At least I won't be totally broke.

Blarg. I have a situation. Tomorrow starts my week off from work, so today is going to be the longest workday ever. But, they're cutting hours next week, so I've been sent home early a few days, and I already know they'll do so again today. I think I'm losing around six hours total this week, which is a big hit to my paycheck.

Went to the grocery store. I spent $46 and saved $33.

I win.

I haven't spent any money in more than a week. The last thing in my bank register is the check I wrote Mom for my share of the May rent when I got paid last (the 24th). I'm proud of myself. :)

RentAnime debits tomorrow, though. So much for my hopes of going a whole pay period without spending anything. ~_~

Bah. Being broke sucks.

At least all my bills are paid. That's better than being broke and still owing someone.

My next paycheck--this Friday--will be sucked up completely by May's rent, though, so I have almost three more weeks of being broke. If not more than that.

Stupid cost of living...

I hate worrying about finances. It always makes me so depressed. :(

My hours at work are really low right now, 'cause post-holiday business is always anemic. Rent is due, and the paycheck I got today won't cover my share. The gas bill is sky-high, 'cause the furnace is always on during the winter. I've got other bills due soon, some of them before ( Read more... )
