Wow!.. out of the blue we have a tropical storm w/potential cat.1 hurricane on our back door. Strange how this one moved south out into the gulf from Mobile Bay, then turned to parallel the Louisiana coast. The models vary, but the consensus is that it'll reach landfall anywhere between Galveston and FreePort Tuesday afternoon or early evening. Here are the current projections:
Tonight: Showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 1am. Some of the storms could produce heavy rain. Low around 77. South wind 5 to 10 mph becoming northeast. Chance of precipitation is 80%.
Tuesday: Tropical storm conditions expected, with hurricane conditions possible. Showers and thunderstorms. Some of the storms could produce heavy rain. High near 89. Heat index values as high as 102. East wind 10 to 15 mph increasing to between 30 and 35 mph. Winds could gust as high as 45 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%.
Tuesday Night: Showers and thunderstorms likely. Some of the storms could produce heavy rain. Cloudy, with a low around 77. Southeast wind between 10 and 15 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%.
So, it looks like the worst part will be during the daylight hours, which is best... and, we really Do Need the Rain !!
