Kal-El landed in Kansas in the 1930s and takes into context various moments in the American Civil Rights movement. This story takes place in early April 3-5, 1968 around the time of the assignation of Dr. King. Wonder Woman here follows the Wonder Woman (vol. 1) #105 / JL&JLU origin of Wonder Woman, where she was formed by Hippolyta from clay and given life by the Greek gods. Wonder Woman is new to the world of men, and as someone raised in an ancient Greek culture, frequently speaks in terms of epithets. Diana arrow-showering, Kal-El super-man, etc.
