6 weeks since last Post!!!!
Well, we had a great time while my mom was here and I was sad to see her go. G's birthday was great and he got pretty much everything he wanted minus an iPOD that the mean mom said no to. Ash's dance recital was great and everyone except G enjoyed that but I don't know too many 11 year old boys that would enjoy that. We celebrated my birthday and my grandma's birthday while she was here too, so we did lots of celebrating and eating!!
I mentioned in previous posts that G was getting chickens. Well, we got them about 2 weeks ago. It is pretty amazing how fast they have grown!! They already weigh 1 pound. We have to get them to 4 pounds minimum by July 20. So far we have gone through a 50 pound bag of feed. So, yeah they eat lots!! I didn't think I would want anything to do with them because I remember when hperna had chickens and I hated going to the barn with her to do chores, but it really isn't as bad as I remember. I am allergic to the birds, so I sneeze my head off, but I can deal with it. We had 27 birds, we ordered 25 but it must be like a baker's dozen and they threw 2 extras in. Well, to date we still have 26 birds, but 2 other birds are not doing very well. So as of tonight we may only have 24 we'll see. My mom suggested me asking hperna if she'd like to assist in the washing of the birds, but I pretty much figure she had her fill of that in her 4-H days!! I am not looking forward to that, but maybe it won't be as bad as it sounds.
We're getting ready for fair right now and finishing up projects. It has seemed like lots more work this year because of fair being 3 weeks earlier. G has finished about 4 of his projects with lots more to go. I have begun to make a list so we don't forget anything. Ash will take open class things since she isn't old enough to join 4-H yet. She is also dancing in the talent contest which she enjoys very much and has told me she would be happy with 2nd place since she already has a 1st and 3rd place trophy from the contest the last 2 years and she needs a 2nd place trophy to finish her collection. She's a crazy girl!!
I'm looking forward to the weekend because my mom and step-dad are making the trip to Michigan again. This time they're driving and stayingat my sister's house. It will be good to see them. She is coming home now and again in 3 weeks for the fair. So, she is home sick a little. We're having a family get together while they're here and it should be fun.
