Chesley, day 2, part 2

May 16, 2006 23:09

Tired.

Metric crapload of butter tarts were made. And I got a free (as in I didn't have to ask for it) homemade apple pie. I think both are out of reach of my sister's dog. They better be.

Today I learned that putting me, my mother, and her mother together in a kitchen working on one project is a good idea for comedy and food, bad for your self esteem. I also learned that pairing up with my grandmother = win at euchre, even when we're both stupid tired (we only one by one trick though. Very close game. I don't think either of us cheated... much). And I learned that when a recipe that two people lay claim to hasn't been made in 5+ years, they argue over who has the better tweaks to the recipe.

I also visited the tea house in Tara today. Ohmyfreakinggod good food. I now have another teapot (sorry, kragars_shadow) and some loose teas. We also stopped at some good random stores around the area, and I finally got into the Moose Rack. Didn't buy anything though. I think I need a shelf to display my teapots, as since kragars_shadow doesn't drink tea, it's hard to justify making a whole pot for myself. But they're pretty and I apparently can't stop buying them/receiving them as gifts.

Oh yeah, and we went to the Keady farmers market at stupid early this morning. It's been a busy day. No wonder I'm zapped.

Love you all. I'll be back in town tomorrow. Somehow. At some point. I dunno.

At least I got my lilacs.

Zzzzz......
