Random tidbits and an eggplant update

Mar 24, 2006 09:31

So the eggplant tasted good. I put it in a lasagna with spinach and fresh tomato. I, however, am now apparently DOOMED to go through life lasagnaless.

After eating said yummy lasagna, I have felt poisoned. I'm not actually experiencing any ill symptoms, but my entire body is screaming FOOD BAD.

That being said, when I feel like that, my body wants weird things. So up until dinner time, I had only eaten 4 pieces of toast with peanut butter, and 4 chocolate chip cookies. Apparently my tummy found those acceptable.

kragars_shadow and I went out to dinner last night, and apparently all I could stomach (literally) was a bowl of chicken noodle soup and a side garden salad. Whoohoo. Both were quite yummy but when I go out I like to get things I can't make/pour from a can myself. And the big tease - we actually got dessert last night. Lots of chocolate stuff. I had three bites and had to stop. That sucked. This morning I had eggs and toast and a hashbrown - and that was a challenge. I'm now attempting chamomile tea and lots of lemon water (fresh lemon, not bottled) to see if I can flush whatever toxins are in my system out.

The worst part of my body randomly rebelling against foods is that I'll make something big, like lasagna, planning to eat it for a few days, then my tummy says "no" and either kragars_shadow ends up eating it, and/or when he gets tired of it, we throw it out. So I'll have to learn to make a loaf-pan sized lasagna. If I can even eat it ever again. *sigh*

The reason we went out for dinner even though the tummy was being dumb was because we finally got the stereo kragars_shadow's brother gave us for Christmas into the car! Whoohoo! It has a LOUD button. No kidding. All it does is crank up the bass in the back, but it's still cool. However, since both of us are attempting to preserve our hearing, we're using it for more of a "surround" effect and keeping the overall volume down. But if we ever need to blast sound, we can.

Today's plans involve writing an essay that's due at midnight (hee hee... oops) and prepping for teaching early tomorrow morning. This will be the last of the Saturday morning sessions though, so I can start going to the market again! Yay!

Okay... tea time.

Edit: They're FINALLY getting around to replacing the crappy elevator in our building. This hasn't been a problem so far, but apparently today marks the start of the massive DRILLING part of the repair. Crud.
