Beautiful Music

Spring is still holding on nicely here in Omaha. Huge, puffy clouds have been floating across the blue skies, and the birds never stop chirping. It's such a lovely time right now, I can't help but feel utterly happy and full of love for everything. As cheesy as that sounds, it's true. Spring always draws it out in me…. I just suddenly feel compassion and joy towards other human beings. Even the people I normally want to beat up. It must be spring, or the way the planets are aligned, or something. Maybe it's the sun shining down on me, or the breeze, or just the season of rebirth. Everything looks so clear, so sharp, so sweet. I know, I know…. What a load of crap! But I can't help it. Hanging out with friends means so much more. Piddling out in the yard is a joy. Even driving my car and singing at the top of my lungs is the most fabulous thing! It's a wondorous thing to have the heart so light for no apparent reason. And I challenge you to find a couple pieces of absolutely beautiful music to accompany my mood:
"Evensong" from the Lord of the Rings… it is goregous and the women's voices are simply breathtaking.
"Mercy" from Jonathan Elias' Prayer Cycle. Alanis Morisette sings in Hungarian, and it is haunting and beautiful.

OK… I won't cheese you out anymore. It's actually a cold, miserable, rainly day here in the Big O, but I am feeling spectactular. I'm listening to some good 'ol jazz this morning and I'm just pleased as punch. I hope everyone else is doing well and feeling joyous. If not, let me know and I'll send some energy your way. I've got plenty to spare!
