Dear Yulegoat 2011

Nov 16, 2011 15:27

First of all, THANK YOU for loving my cheesy fandoms and being the one to write for me (well, Jericho isn't cheesy, so if you matched on that, less so). I've put babbling behind the cut about things I like, but mostly I love these people interacting. I enjoy plot, angst, character interaction, and I am very much a canon-based life form: I like things to fit the characters as aired/printed and fit within the stories told and match the tone of same. I hope you have a great time writing.

Birds of Prey (Comic)
Barbara Gordon
Optional Tags: Gen, Mature, Women Being Awesome, Tropes (+Bonus added here: Disabled Canon Character, Female Characters)
Optional Details: I'd love to see Barbara being the one on the ground for an op, having to rely on someone else to have all the intel, and being the one DOING (and trying to be stealthy) while not being noticed. But anything with Barbara as the focus and saving the day--preferably getting out of the Clock Tower to do it--would be great.
I admit I'd like it set sometime after "Hunt for Oracle" so that she and Dinah have met already, but that's up to you. (Or, hell, the story of Dinah getting it when they meet in "Hunt for Oracle" and she meets Barbara but doesn't know and asks, "Can you walk?" since she may still not know even AFTER that when she's on the mission to far-away.)
Bonus for working in good old cheesy 80s story tropes (pretending to be married in the suburbs OR temporarily blind OR The Hostage Situation OR chained together and running for their lives, OR stranded far from civilization and have to find a way home, etc.). **Most of all what I love about Barbara Gordon is her resourcefulness, and her determination, and her all-out CUSSEDNESS. I like that she WILL DO anything she puts her (considerably awesome) mind to, no matter how "hard" or even "impossible" it is. THAT is what I would love to see, first and foremost.** Any other characters as desired or needed, and "Mature" is listed just as my max preferred rating, though I'm fine with anything below that...or above that...I'm pretty flexible, so long as it serves the story rather than the story serving it.

Rizzoli & Isles
Maura Isles, Jane Rizzoli
Optional Tags: Gen or pairing, Mature, Women Being Awesome, Tropes
Optional Details: plot that gets Jane and Maura (actually IN the same scenes, rather than separated like S2 has done with them) involved in a case that brings up again the issues of family and identity that Maura has been grappling with as she contemplates who she is and what aspects of her identity come from which of her varied origin. Bonus points for having the plot involve typical cheesy 80s plot tropes (pretending to be married in the suburbs!!! OR temporarily blind/paralyzed OR The Hostage Situation OR chained together and running for their lives, OR stranded far from civilization and have to find a way home, etc.). Any other characters as desired or needed, and "Mature" is listed just as my max preferred rating, though I'm fine with anything below that...or above that...I'm pretty flexible, so long as it serves the story rather than the story serving it.

Jericho (2006)
Rob Hawkins, Allison Hawkins
Optional Tags: Gen, Mature, Women Being Awesome
Optional Tags: Chromatic Character, Father/Daughter Relationship
Optional Details: Much to her surprise, Allison finds that she is very much Rob's daughter. Any other characters as desired or needed, and "Mature" is listed just as my max preferred rating, though I'm fine with anything below that...or above that...I'm pretty flexible, so long as it serves the story rather than the story serving it.

Silk Stalkings
Rita Lee Lance, Chris Lorenzo
Optional Tags: Gen or pairing, Mature, Women Being Awesome, Tropes
Optional Details: I'd love to read a typical cheesy 80s story dice/trope plot (pretending to be married in the suburbs OR temporarily blind/paralyzed OR The Hostage Situation OR chained together and running for their lives, OR stranded far from civilization and have to find a way home, or the like) attached to a story with Chris and Rita on a case out of touch with the department. Any other characters as desired or needed, and "Mature" is listed just as my max preferred rating, though I'm fine with anything below that...or above that...I'm pretty flexible, so long as it serves the story rather than the story serving it.
