Back to TKD and doing well

I'm very proud of myself. I returned to Tae Kwon Do Thursday before last, then went again last Thursday and regularly since then. I re-learned my yellow belt form (which I TOTALLY buggered today at testing despite totally knowing it). I have relearned and stepped right back into doing great on all my punches, kicks...everything except stamina. And my hip is not entirely pleased with the impact work, so...ow.

When I was doing my measuring to my breaking boards, Master Lee told Instructor Mike to hold the board for the front jump kick lower for me...and so my test kick...broke the board. *grin* And...oops. Instructor Mike was like, "Nice speed-break," because he wasn't even holding it on both sides. Master Lee had forgotten that I'm ...bendy. Now to build strength and endurance (and lose weight so I'm lighter and it's easier to do all of it).

BUT...I am now an ORANGE BELT. Yay, me.

And the kids passed their tests and are now high red belts. GO THEM!

We've made spinach-feta quiche, more cheesecakes, and LASAGNE. Mmmmm. (Losing weight re: food will happen...after tomorrow.)

joints, exercise, tkd, hip
