I finally checked my work voicemail this week and found a message that a former colleague had suggested someone from Central Office call me and ask if I'd be willing to present at a workshop.
So, next Friday, I am running a workshop for teachers from schools all over the city (I'll probably have about 25 in attendance) to discuss what skills are needed for students to be successful in AP English, how to develop an AP program, how to structure earlier classes so that students build the needed skills to be prepared for AP, and how to determine who to allow to take AP and what factors influence whether they'll be successful.
So...I'll have a new thing to put on my resume, and I'll get to help other teachers, and, well, I've got a lot of materials to prepare, but I'm looking forward to it; it's just a NEAT opportunity.
