Good news and mediocre news. I met with some future coworkers today, and I think we all got along smashingly so the job is still mine! The mediocre part is that now that they have the go ahead, it will likely take 3 or 4 weeks to get it all through the system (the beauty of working through contractors). Anyone read Diana Gabaldon's Outlander series? I just finished the first book last night, a coworker had recommended it to me and provided me with a copy. She's handed me the second book now, which she claims is the least entertaining, but serves to set up so many things that will come in the future. Speaking of opinions of books...what is your opinion on Terry Pratchett's Discworld series? Should I give it a whirl? Should I watch The Hogfather?

people talk about books being so good you can't put them down, but what about a book so good you HAVE to put it down occasionally because otherwise you will spontaneously combust from the greatness? i've had to take several breaks already.

this week has been a whirlwind. i thought it was close to over, but a change of plans makes it seem never ending. the st.louis road trip got pushed back two days. so i'm going to try and accomplish monday and tuesday on tomorrow and friday. we'll see how that works. i have faith. and adderall.
