Anyone read Diana Gabaldon's Outlander series? I just finished the first book last night, a coworker had recommended it to me and provided me with a copy. She's handed me the second book now, which she claims is the least entertaining, but serves to set up so many things that will come in the future. I must say I became a bit absorbed, even though it started off slow. And I'm excited to have a new series to read. I don't mind singular books, but there's excitement for me in a series, because it means not one, but many books (how's that for redundancy?). Considering how fast I read, it's ideal to have more than just a few hours of enjoyment to look forward to. I will now have a few hours of enjoyment x 6.
There's something a little unnerving about the heroine's love interest being a tall Scotsman...but he's 23 and has hair, and he's completely enamored with her, so the similarities ended pretty quick.
