Things at Home: 3 humans, 1 cat. All is well. It’s quiet with just Nermal - she was always our quietest and most solitary cat. And being the equivalent of a 90-year-old lady, she mostly just sleeps. She has inadvertently made things more interesting around her, though - since she’s blind, we’ve put up cat-and-high barriers to keep her out of places she shouldn’t be. So, Nermal can’t get up the stairs, into my office, into Mom & Dad’s office, by the front door, or into the bathroom past the sink. But also, we have to step over a knee-high barrier to get in the house or over to the toilet. It’s especially fun for Mom, who’s 4 to 6 inches shorter than me and Dad, lol.

Things at Work: same old same old. We’re getting a new supervisor, just for the admins of both shifts. It’s someone who’s worked in a different part of our department, before, and she’s asking a bunch of good questions about how things work, so I’m cautiously optimistic.
