McGee frowned at the office around them. “Commander Corning didn’t have any known enemies, and nothing was stolen when she was killed.”
“So what was the motive?” asked Knight, then frowned. “Wait. Old house, old family, old money - aha!”
A panel in the wall slid open, revealing an official-looking document. “A hidden will!”
Her partners blinked, then leaned in to read it.
“The nephew!” said McGee. “Without this, he’d inherit and clear his debts.”
“How’d you know that was there?” asked Torres.
Knight grinned. “Didn’t you guys ever read Nancy Drew?”
