“Gus,” breathed Shawn. “I know where the key is.”
“Where?”
“The victim told us, he wrote it down before he died.”
Gus frowned, “Every cloud has a silver lining? Shawn, you do know that clouds aren’t solid and don’t have linings, of any color or metal.”
Shawn frowned back. “Yes, Gus, I know what clouds are. But I also know that there’s a painting called The Cloud, by some pretentious Dutch guy, and a copy is hanging in the victim’s house.”
“And that’s a good place to hide a silver key,” agreed Gus, smile slowly forming.
Shawn grinned. “Let’s go.”
