After a long wait here's the next chapter~!
The boys were all cleaned up, sprawled out as they recovered from their sore bodies.
“So she kicked your asses huh?” Taisuke joked as he sat by Jin who was laid out on his stomach on his bed.
“That girl is way too active for her looks. I thought she was a gentle little angel, but I was totally wrong,” Jin groaned.
“I think you got away with the least amount of damage,” Tao told Kris with a smile while massaging his arm muscles, “This should make it feel better, I do this when the actor’s muscles get sore and stuff for the movies.”
“Thanks, I don’t really like putting my hands on a woman but she can easily defend herself,” Kris commented as he let Tao massage the soreness from his arm.
“Leo and I did really good though! I wish I hadn’t fallen for her charm though…but I mean when she turns that on I don’t think anyone is safe,” Chanyeol laughed awkwardly after his little comment, imagining that look on her face again.
“Well Leo was a very active kid growing up so he’s good at fighting and running,” Ravi explained as his partner came out of the shower.
“Someone can jump in now,” he coolly said before heading over to the closet to put on some comfortable clothes.
“Good job Leo, have fun on your date!” Ravi waved his friend away after Leo threw on some clothes.
“We decided to not do it today, we both agreed we’re too tired for a date tonight,” Leo explained before heading out.
Once he was gone Jun spoke up, “Man he’s a real quiet one, and those are the ones you really have to watch out for.”
Ravi just smiled to himself at the comment thinking Jun was one smart guy.
The next day everyone gathered in the same room for the ceremony, the latest date attendees in the front row while the last date survivors sat in the last seats. Just like before they were all dressed in nice suits as they watched Akira walk to the table. She took the pile of photos to her chest, ready to reveal those who were saved this time.
“This week we got physical and played some games though I may have played a bit too rough with some of you. Through this I was able to see different sides to you that helped me determine my choices for tonight. So with that I will reveal different photos of us during our matches of those I chose to save. As always come forward when you see you’ve been saved,” Akira explained before revealing the first photo.
Akira was holding his arm twisted behind his back, his face scrunched up in pain. Kris covered his face in embarrassment before smiling and walking up to collect his photo.
“You just had to pick that one huh?” he joked.
She couldn’t suppress her smile as she answered, “Well I thought it was cute.”
He smiled awkwardly as he wasn’t used to being called cute or could handle the cute look on her face as she answered. He went back to his seat as calmly as he could before Akira moved on. She took the next picture and turned it around to reveal a picture of Chanyeol on top of Akira, kissing her cheek. He jumped up from his seat with a big smile across his face. As he approached he could see the look on her face and started to regret that she chose the picture as it obviously reminded her of that surprise kiss.
“You got away with one kiss, but don’t think you’ll catch me off guard again,” she warned him sternly before breaking into a small smile.
He chuckled lightly before agreeing and bowing. He went back to his seat, obviously elated at the moment he shared with her and the fact that he wasn’t being sent home. Now she stood holding one last picture, sending the last three into a small nervous atmosphere as they wondered if they were going to survive the elimination.
“I only have one picture left and it belongs to…” she trailed off before turning the picture around, “…Leo. You are safe and since you were able to catch me and defeat me both rounds you and I will go on a private date right after this.”
“I will have to pass,” he spoke up as he stood up.
Everyone was taken aback by his words, wondering why he’d refuse a private date with her.
“I don’t want to win a date with you like you’re a prize. I only want you to go on a date with me out of your own choice not because you were defeated. We won’t enjoy ourselves if it’s that way,” he explained further as he approached her, stopping in front of her.
Akira was stunned but was also touched by his words. She blushed a bit as they looked at each other for a good minute before Akira snapped out of it and handed over his picture.
“I appreciate your words, I didn’t make a mistake keeping you,” she mumbled to him before he turned and went back to his seat.
Meanwhile the two who were going home stood up and walked towards Akira who was standing with her hands politely in front of her. She turned to look at them both before explaining her reasoning for sending them home.
“When we were playing those games I felt like you two just weren’t in your element and couldn’t have fun at all. I couldn’t really connect with you two and thus I felt like it would be best if you went home. Thank you for coming anyways,” she explained before bowing politely to them.
“I wish I had a better chance to show you what I got but I guess it isn’t meant to be,” Jun commented.
“You and I could have had something special, but I guess I was the only one who felt that way, too bad,” Jin smirked before patting her on the shoulder.
Akira kept a straight face as they left before turning back to the guys and speaking, “Now that it’s over, I wish all the luck to those who will be on the next date with me. Have a good night guys.”
With that she bowed to them and walked out of the room, heading back upstairs to her room. She was quiet as she thought to herself about Leo turning down the date. She admitted that it was indeed odd for them to have to win a date, but she respected that he turned it down in the end. She knew he had to be a good guy after what he said to her. Now she wondered if the producers would change the dates later so that it was less about competition like that.
For The rest of the night Akira couldn’t get her mind off of Leo as she thought about him as she stared out her window at the night sky. So far the guys weren’t bad, but she still felt somewhat reluctant about letting them get too close to her. She let out a long sigh before she heard something outside her window. She opened the window slightly and listened hard, catching a beautiful voice on the wind. It was clearly a man’s but it was filled with so much emotion that she felt instantly at ease. She rested her head on her crossed arms on the window sill, closing her eyes and listening to the sweet voice.
When she heard the loud knocks at her door she opened her eyes and noticed that it was morning already, having fallen asleep in her seat by the window. She stretched and walked over to the door, opening it to reveal her sister. She let herself in carrying a couple bags, asking why it had taken so long for her to answer.
“I fell asleep by the window last night. I heard someone’s voice singing and it lulled me to sleep somehow…” Akira explained, somewhat embarrassed by her action.
“A voice? Well there are singers in this place it had to have been one of them,” her sister laughed as she searched through the bags, pulling out clothes.
“That’s right, I guess I’ll hear that voice soon enough,” Akira sighed before closing the window and making her way over to her sister.
Noriko laid out a few outfits before asking her sister which one she preferred. She decided to go with a teal tank top with a loose white skirt that stopped at her knees. After pulling her hair up and pinning it in place she headed out with her sister to where she was supposed to meet the staff.
“Come with us, we’ve built a special stage out in the back for today’s date!” one of the female staff informed her before guiding the two sisters out to the back.
Just as they said there was a stage built almost as if they were going to watch a high school play. There weren’t that many chairs in front of the stage making Akira wonder if she was going to watch them display talents to her. As she tried to think of what the date was going to be she heard the sound of other voices approaching. The two sisters turned to see the members of the date for today. Kai, D.O, Kazunari, Sho, and Ravi approached with smiles all on their faces as they followed the staff member to the seats where Akira and Noriko stood.
Then from the stage a familiar voice spoke, “For today’s date we’ve decided to use Akira’s acting skills and make this a fun exercise of what if! You will take turns playing Akira’s boyfriend who will help support her by helping her read lines for a new work she has! This is your chance to show her what a supportive man you can be as well as show her just what kind of man you’ll be to her. Good luck and don’t get stage fright!”
Immediately Akira was taken by the arm by a staff member and brought up to the stage where they had built what looked like a small apartment setting. She ran her hand along the white sofa before sitting down, picking up the script that was laid on the seat.
“Guess I’m first,” Sho chuckled lightly as he appeared on stage.
Akira watched as he approached her with a hand extended out to her. She looked at it for a moment before handing over the other script.
“Here’s the script for the male lead in the new drama I’ll be starring in,” she started off, getting herself into the situation.
“Oh? Well let me take a look and we can go over it together then ok?” Sho responded sweetly before plopping down on the seat next to her.
The two looked over the script occasionally glancing over to each other, the tension between making it a bit awkward. She couldn’t explain why they both felt so nervous around each other¸ but at the same time she felt safe beside him. She smiled to herself before she suddenly felt an arm sneak around her shoulders, pulling her closer. She stared up into Sho’s face and saw him smiling down at her.
“I’m ready when you are,” he smiled.
“Ah, ok. I’ll start,” she managed to push out her mouth before pulling away and jumping off the couch.
“What’s wrong? You too embarrassed to have your boyfriend have his arms around you? We’re not in public, you can relax here,” he reassured her.
Akira swallowed the lump in her throat before nodding her head and pulling her script up to hide her faint blush. She began to read her lines, going back and forth with Sho, but she couldn’t muster the courage to look him in the eyes.
“I can’t take this anymore…we’re over Ryou…I can’t take you hurting me like this anymore,” she read with her voice quivering like the character was supposed to sound.
Sho stood up and quickly went to her, wrapping her up in his arms before reading his line “I won’t hurt you ever again so please don’t disappear from my sight again.”
Her heart felt like it was going to burst from her chest as she felt his arms around her body, holding her closely to his. She became so flustered she forgot the next line and wiggled a bit to try and see her script but she was stopped by Sho. He took her chin gently in his hand and tilted her head up to look at him. The two looked into each other’s eyes for what seemed like an eternity as Sho leaned in closer. Then it dawned on Akira that he was moving in for a kiss just as the script had written. She didn’t feel ready but her actress side told her to accept the kiss. She squeezed her eyes shut as she awaited the kiss, her chest feeling like it was going to burst any moment.
