Here's chapter 4, time for more unconventional dates! lol
Akira wasn’t sure what the next date was going to be but they had already sent her an outfit to wear for it. She was dressed in shorts and a t-shirt, wearing a pair of running shoes, and looking overall very sporty. She wondered exactly what the date was as it was very different from the first outfit. The staff kept her in the dark as they brought her to a car and drove her away from the house. When the car finally stopped Akira was surprised to see an obstacle course awaiting her. One of the staff members led Akira away from the car and through the course up onto an elevated platform. She was told to wait so she did, looking around as cameras got into position.
Suddenly she saw the group of five guys walking her way all dressed to work out like herself. The hostess walked alongside them as the cameras followed their moves. Before getting too close to Akira they stopped and Saya turned to the camera and started to explain.
“The first date was relaxed but today’s date is all about getting physical. Akira has always been admired for her figure and has been known to be quite the active young girl. So with that in mind this date was set up here at the obstacle course built just for this moment. Here we will test whether or not you’ll be able to keep up with her as well as have a little competition. Whoever can catch her first as she runs away from y’all will win the chance to take her on a private date right after this!” she announced excitedly.
Akira turned to a staff member nearby and asked, “I’m supposed to run away from them?”
“Yes, you can’t get caught!” they whispered back to her.
“When the horn goes off Akira will take off into the course to run and hide from you guys! Then on the second horn you guys will be allowed to chase after her, good luck!” Saya announced before the first horn went off.
Akira paused before looking at the guys once and taking off into the course, sliding down the slide off the platform. She quickly took off across the dirt terrain looking around and quickly trying to figure out where the best place to run and hide would be. She took off towards a wall with a rope hanging down on it, jumping up to grab it and started climbing to get over. As she reached the top she heard the second horn and knew she needed to hurry. She jumped from the top and landed on the ground as gracefully as she could before taking off into what looked like the entrance to a maze.
She started wandering around trying to find a good place to hide or even the exit. Eventually came to what seemed like the middle of the maze where it was larger and contained a shelter. She heard the guys’ footsteps and knew that somebody had the right idea and was on her trail. She debated if it was safe to stay there or to continue running. Thinking a small break would help she darted into the shelter in hopes that it would have a good hiding spot for her. Her heart and adrenaline were pumping as she shut the door as quickly and quietly as she could. She looked around and found a closet she decided to hide in. She slowed her breathing down as she hid wondering when would be the best time to come out. Then her heart and body froze when she heard the door to the shelter open. She held her breathe as she peeked through the crack of the closet to see who had entered. Then she saw it was none other than Jin. He was breathing loudly as he looked around under and around things around the shelter.
“Where the heck is she? I’m a singer not an athlete, this isn’t my specialty. I just want a damn date with her,” he complained aloud.
Akira felt disheartened by his comment, thinking that this should have been a fun game of hide-and-seek. He let out a frustrated sound before storming out of the shelter. She waited a couple minutes before sneaking out of the closet and heading for the exit. She opened the door carefully and looked around before stepping out. Suddenly she heard someone exclaim, turning to see Jin and Jun pointing towards her.
“Found her! Wait right there runaway princess!” they shouted.
Akira stuck her tongue out at them before darting off to the nearest entrance to the maze. She ran as fast she could taking as many turns as she could to try and throw them off her trail. She felt like she was being hunted down like a fox who though it was safe to leave the hole. Now she was running to what looked like an exit to the maze, finally getting out of the trap. Then she saw a couple of the other guys, Kris and Chanyeol, looking around before spotting her. They pointed towards her before taking off in her direction. She immediately darted off to the nearest obstacle to try and slow them down. She fell to her knees and started to crawl under the obstacle knowing that their height would be disadvantageous to them.
She turned back to see them slowly and clumsily making their way under, having to army crawl underneath after her. She quickly made her way out and took off in hopes of losing them. She then saw a ramp leading to another platform she knew would be a good spot to get a bird’s eye view of where everyone else was. She took off at a comfortable jog towards it knowing she had lost the guys behind her and didn’t have to worry so much. She made it easily to the ramp and started to walk up until she saw someone waiting at the end for her.
It was none other than Leo, waiting quietly with his arms crossed across his chest. She turned around quickly and tried to take off speedily but she slipped and started to fall. Luckily she felt a hand grab her arm and stop her from falling, pulling her up. She turned to see Leo holding her arm with a straight face.
“Careful, don’t hurt yourself,” he warned her softly.
“Thanks,” she mumbled to him as she stood up right.
“Aw no fair! Leo got to her first!” Chanyeol whined jokingly as he and Kris approached with Jun and Jin following not far behind them.
“Congratulations to Leo! He’s the winner of this round! Now everyone gather up for round two!” the voice announced over the speaker.
Everyone gathered together at the exit of the course where Saya was waiting for them.
“Good job guys in trying to catch her, you definitely can’t let your guard down around her even if she’s a girl. So now you guys are going to face off one by one against her. Let’s see who can wrestle their way into her heart!” she announced before escorting them all away.
They were brought to a caged ring and were given helmets to protect their head before being thrown into the cage. Jun was first and he tried to look confident as Akira walked in, a serious look in her eyes.
“Now I don’t want to hurt you since you’re an actress and all,” he started before she interrupted.
“Don’t worry, I’ll be sure to not hurt your face as a fellow actor,” she interjected with a smile.
Jun was taken aback by her statement before rushing towards her. In a quick motion he reached out to grab her but was instead grabbed and flipped over in one quick swoop. He was stunned looking up at the ceiling of the cage with Akira looming over him with a smirk on her face.
“Don’t underestimate me,” she told him before walking away.
Chanyeol and Kris walked in to help Jun up and carried him out, letting Jin come in to face her. He shadow boxed around the ring with a sly smile on his face. She just rolled her eyes as the two circled around the ring watching each other. Then he took the opportunity and launched at her, missing and hitting the ground. She had jumped back but had her feet swept out from under her as Jin swung his leg under her after falling. His plan had worked, sending her falling to the ground which gave him enough time to scramble towards her. He tried to pin her arms down but was launched over her after she placed her feet under him and rolled him off her. He landed with a loud smack, understanding why Jun didn’t want to get up after that flip.
Again the tall duo walked in to help Jin up, but Kris was left behind to face Akira. The circled around the ring again watching each other’s moves closely.
“So when did you learn to fight?” he asked her.
“When you have a face like mine sometimes you have to defend yourself from over possessive guys who think they own because they support your career. Now tell me Kris, does a teacher like yourself know how to fight?” she answered before asking her own question.
“Not really, fighting isn’t really my style being a pacifist and all,” he answered coolly before lunging towards her and grabbing her arm.
Akira just smiled at the gentle way he held her. She could tell from the first moment he stepped into the ring that he wasn’t going to hurt her at all.
“Am I really that funny?” he chuckled.
“Quite,” she answered back before smoothly grabbing his arm and twisting it behind his back.
“Mercy Mercy!” he whined shortly before she let him free.
She patted him on the back before giving his arm a gentle kiss on it to make it feel better. The two shared a good laugh together before Akira pushed him on to get him to leave the ring. He took his leave on his own, tagging out with Chanyeol who smiled like a fool as he entered and approached her. He bowed to her and she politely bowed back, confused why he did that. Then it was quick as she was tackled to the ground. She looked up to see Chanyeol smiling down at her as he sat down on her with his long arms easily holding down her wrists.
“Weren’t you the one who said to not underestimate people?” he joked with her before leaning down and planting a kiss on her cheek.
Her eyes went wide as her face began to burn with her embarrassment. Then her face changed as she switched to a coy smile and half lidded eyes. Chanyeol swallowed the lump in his throat as he looked at this view of her trapped beneath them with a sultry look in her eyes.
“Why don’t you try and give me another kiss, this time on the lips,” she urged him.
“Well if you insist,” he chuckled before leaning down to kiss her.
Then their foreheads met in a hard collision sending Chanyeol to roll off her in pain. Even though her own head ached a bit she had been freed from his grasp. He then looked at her with teary puppy eyes rubbing his forehead. She let out a sigh before going over to him and kissing him gently where she had hurt him.
“Sorry for tricking you, but sometimes you have to fight dirty to win,” she apologized before giving him another kiss on his forehead.
He then grabbed her face and planted a quick peck on her lips before smiling and adding, “You did say fight dirty.”
She pouted as her eyes averted looking at his, feeling extremely shy around this uncontainable boy. He eventually let her face go and gave her another bow before leaving her behind. She pressed her hands to her face, feeling the warm flush on her cheeks as she stared blankly at the floor. It wasn’t until she heard the door of the cage close again that she snapped back into it. It was Leo standing before her, waiting for her to stand.
She got up and asked, “You ready to fight? Although I don’t really see you being a violent one.”
“I don’t like to put my hands on a woman, but I am very competitive, so please forgive me if I get heated,” he answered her softly before shifting into position.
She smiled as she shifted into position as well, “I guess I can get my revenge back for you catching me earlier.”
Suddenly he darted towards her and Akira lifted her arms up to block the impact as she expected him to collide with her. Instead he moved quickly to her side and then behind her to wrap his arms around her. He lifted her slightly off the ground as she flailed around to get free. She got her foot behind his ankle and pulled, trying to get him to fall. Her plan worked as he fell backward with a loud thud. He held on to her tightly through the impact and as she tried to get free again. He then wrapped his legs around to trap her own legs down to the ground to stop her flailing.
“Give up?” he whispered into her ear.
She didn’t want to admit it but he had her in a hold she had no idea how to get out of. She let out a frustrated sound before shouting her forfeit. As soon as she said it he let her go before checking her arms and legs to make sure he hadn’t really hurt her. She blinked in confusion as she wondered how such a skilled guy was so caring.
“With that Akira lost both rounds to Leo! Taek Woon congratulations on winning yourself a private date! Now everyone lets gather up and head back to get cleaned up!” Saya announced to everyone.
“Good job, let’s hope whatever they have planned for us doesn’t involve more fighting,” she joked with him as he helped her up.
She felt like time had stood still for a moment when she saw the smile sneak its way onto his face. It was the first time she had seen him smile since the moment she met him. It moved her heart a bit as she thought it was quite cute. She kept that to herself though as she and the others were taken back to the house to get cleaned up. She didn’t want to admit that maybe she felt something for someone other than Hong Bin at that moment.
