Rainbow-Tinted Goggles: Proof

Mar 19, 2011 20:52

I know I say this every other week, but this week's column is not very good. I hope to distract the masses with a shiny shiny graphic. Both are available under the cut.

---

658 words on why Queequeg and Ishmael are probably a little bit queer, why that matters, and why I get so angry when people assume 'straight' is the default mode for human sexuality. All that, plus a pretty picture! )

ishmael, rant, drawing, moby dick, fanart, art, queequeg, queer, rainbow-tinted goggles

Shut up.
No one dies. They swim into an epic life of adventure and awesome homo romance.

They take Clopin's blue policebox there.

I did find one fantastic fanfic that had Queequeg survive in a somewhat plausible manner.

But yes. Then Ishmael and Queequeg take a trip in Clopin's blue policebox and Ishmael complains the entire time.

I want a link to that fanfic.

Yes. Yes, he complains the entire time, and whenever Clopin starts measuring him for a noose, Queequeg threatens to juggle him. So instead he parks the policebox in front of a Duane Reade and buys himself some earplugs.

Fair warning, it's on y!Gallery: http://yaoi.y-gallery.net/view/290095/

...Someone has to write Clopin's blue policebox fic. Because I cannot stand to live in a world where it does not exist.

I know absolutely nothing about Doctor Who, but I guess I'm on Policebox duty.
Who else is backseat driving this box? Is it all awesome literary characters who should never have to die? Is Gavrouche in there somewhere?

Yes. The box is on autopilot, picking up excellent literary characters to save them from their untimely deaths.

...and now I'm watching Doctor Who clips.
Man, I really need to get into this show.

It is pretty great.

And you might be off the hook for that fic, because I am sort of kind of penciling out the fancomic version right now BUT I MAKE NO PROMISES.

YOU'RE THINKING HOW AMAZING THIS WOULD BE.
And I'm thinking just how many literary characters would hate the Doctor for being so vague and sort of dangerous.
Oh my god. Clopin can't strangle him. What would he do when he found that out?

I am putting a cap on the comic version, in that it will feature only Queequeg, Ishmael, and Clopin, and will not go over ten pages (five, if I can help it). I encourage you to go further in prose.

Then I will keep my thoughts to myself and wait VERY, VERY PATIENTLY for this comic.
