First Christmas ever in which I have not received any book. It feels rather odd. Or rather, any books I hadn't read before - my uncle took me to Barnes and Noble yesterday and asked me to pick out any two books I wanted for a Christmas present, but I decided to play it safe and got two book which I love but have read before-Far from the Madding Crowd and Guns of the Timberlands. On the other hand, I did, finally, get A COAT! To be more specific, a long, black, sleek, luscious, and utterly elegant coat which not only fits me perfectly but is BLACK! (*endless squeeing and rubbing of hands together) I've wanted and asked for one for so long but neither I nor any of my family has been able to find one. And now finally I get it from my grandmother! And black leather gloves to match from my parents. And I already own a black cap and black boots, so I am now all set to have the perfect all-black stylish outfit! Luverly. I also received the Phantom of the Opera(from my brother who groaned when I asked for it but got it for me anyway:D) DVD, chocolates, make-up, and two journals. Ergo I am a happy girl at the moment(apart from having a very bad cold and work coming out my ears, of course). *sigh* I can't say this was a lovely Christmas(I didn't get what I really wanted, which was the 3rd season of Alias, and other factors, etc.) but it was satisfactory, nevertheless.
Hoping all of you are having a marvellous day..
The miracle of Christmas:
Matthew Chapter 1
"So all the generations from Abraham to David are fourteen generations; and from David until the carrying away into Babylon are fourteen generations; and from the carrying away into Babylon unto Christ are fourteen generations.
Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost.
Then Joseph her husband, being a just man, and not willing to make her a public example, was minded to put her away privily.
But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost.
And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins. Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying,
Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.
Then Joseph being raised from sleep did as the angel of the Lord had bidden him, and took unto him his wife:
And knew her not till she had brought forth her firstborn son: and he called his name JESUS. "
