March is here and in full swing!  I've already broken my no fabric this month rule since I bought a few fat quarters at the quilt shop in Coos Bay (on March 2nd - I sure made it super far into the month!).  Oh well, there's nothing to do about it now but maybe try to make up for it in May.  I think I just have to ban myself from even going ( Read more... )

I completed my project of the Month and then some more!  I was able to cut all the sashing for my rainbow quilt this week and I have about half of it sewn on.  Shouldn't be too much more work until it's all completed ( Read more... )

I've been meeting with new quilters lately and I attended the first meeting of the Seattle Modern Quilt Guild recently.  This has led me to asking others, and in turn they are asking me, "how did you get into quilting?"  And, I realized that I've never written about it here on my blog.

The quilt blogging world has been talking about modern quilting a lot lately and here in Seattle a Modern Quilting Guild has just started and will be having their first meeting in two weeks.  I've been trying to decide if I was a modern quilter or not and if I should go to the meeting.  I have no idea if I'm modern enough to join or not but I'm ( Read more... )

I finished my first 2010 Project of the Month!  I machine quilted this Peter Rabbit panel for Dominic.  The quilting is my attempt at stippling and it was very difficult.  I used white thread so it doesn't really show up much in the photos.  I have a lot of room for improvement - mostly that I need to feed the fabric through at a more even speed ( Read more... )
