I found a solution to my man problems. It's a t-shirt that says "non per tutti" which means "not for everyone". I'm going to wear it Every. Day.
The saying "When in Rome..." does not apply in Milan unless you have a spare $20k to blow on your wardrobe.
Some good news: I dropped a few coins in a bum's jar today. He yelled after me, "senorina!" he wanted to put a bracelet on me. Aha! I already knew this was a scam. They put the bracelet on you then ask you for 20 euros and get all pissed off if you don't give it to them. What I didn't expect was for the man to run after me. He yelled, "I am not a prostitute!" and dropped the coins on the ground in front of me. I'm pretty sure this is part of the scam as he had the exact bracelets I read about. Milan: 99, Joni:1. I can win this game!
After this I found a giant park, probably similar size to central park. It's beautiful and green and I hope to bring Alice here. If I wasn't so paranoid I would have hung out there tonight but it was dark and I'm afraid of being scammed or robbed or.... whatever.
Some bad news: Atm had an error today. I logged onto online banking to complain about my card not working overseas, only to find that I am missing $750. Lucky I didn't need that today - my landlord is a hard ass. Now to find a way to describe all this to the bank... I already know that no one there speaks English.
More good news: I sorted things out with Mauricio, but of course, that means I miss him now.
Such is life.
