Poem: Alone

Apr 09, 2008 01:36

This is a poem I wrote when I was bored. I think it was between June to August. I can't really recall. Hmm... I don't really know what else to say about it other than that I wrote it in 2007.

Maybe I'll get around to explaining the story within the poem one day. I wouldn't hold my breath if I was you though... I know myself too well.

Alone
2007

Alone within this foreign night,
For the wishes of my plight,
May I send a plea,
To the bewitching sea.

I see the morrows morn,
The future so forlorn.
I see the tides of war,
Nearing terrors from afar.

Alone within these stones,
My watching vision roams,
The horrors of the morrows morn,
My weeping fearing soul forlorn.

Far beyond these iron bars,
A sacred treasure that was ours,
A fading treasure it would seem.
The last vestiges of our dream,

Alone within this walls,
The freedom that it calls.
My blood shed and my tears,
The visions of my fears.

And now upon this lonely night,
No way to answer to my plight
No one to hear my hopeful plea,
I lie reposed in the bewitching sea.
