Poem: Terror

Oct 17, 2008 03:44

Another poem after sometime. This was also written a few years ago.

Terror
2007

I see the sprits of the slain,
I wonder, am I still sane?
I see the horrors all around,
Terror, I know it's sound...

My hands, they slide on bloody floors,
And trembling fingers scratch the doors.
My mind denies, I'm here confined,
I hear the words of death defined.

Eyes are windows,
Terrors shows,
I know their fright,
No hope of light.

My eyes, they search the creeping dark,
I clutch the bars, and hear them bark.
I sense their craven dark designs,
I crouch in grime, their mind maligns.

Scrabbling hands,
With dirty brands,
Breaking nails,
The tortured wails.

My body broken, I lie awake.
There's nothing I have left to break.
The hopeless eyes I see around,
The spirits of the slain earthbound.

My eyes are gone,
I've come undone,
Bloody trails,
My silenced wails.

No freedom near, nor hope to deign,
No sense of fear, just death to gain.
Who will grant me my wish to die?
I want for peace, and a grave to lie.

Lost in terror,
Cast in horror.
Mind is shattered,
Body fettered.
