"The Monstrosity"

Jan 08, 2008 19:55

On the way to, from, and during New Year's (well, the afterparty. Knitting while drunk drinking is asking for trouble), I played around with The Monstrosity, finally deciding to start in the middle and graft the whole thing at the back of the neck, so I could start with easy flat knitting and not points. Besides, I decided, I like decreasing better than increasing anyway.

The Monstrosity is going to go on for ... um... one large loop around the neck and then to waist level on each side of a 6'something guy as seed-stitch bordered stockinette, about 8" wide. At the waist, it flares out before splitting into points (see Excel sketch):

So far, I have one skein, 26", knit. If I were knitting straight, the 6 skeins I have would be just enough for 13 feet, my approximated length. As it is... well, that's a long way away.
