Bruce Springsteen is god. If I was white, working class, and more talented, I would spend the rest of my life trying to become him. When Donald was here I rented a DVD of live performances, one of which had the Boss playing "born in the USA" solo on open tuned slide guitar! And let me fucking tell you, it rocked. The intro had a Celtic sound, with the bagpipe drone feel, but halfway through he goes into this thing that sounds like Indian raga! Unbelievable! Its like he's simultaneously channeling the Irish and Mid Eastern immigrant experiances in one guitar part, while singing a subversively patriotic anti-Vietnam war song over the top! Fuck me! I am not worthy!
(on a side note, i just recieved the first C of my life, in AP Enviromental Science! I'm actually kind of psyched. If I had recieved a 4.0 or higher this quarter I would have been cheating myself.)
