Fan Efforts Being Noticed

May 01, 2014 09:45

Sally alerted us to a poll yesterday that has garnered 5000 signatures in less than 24 hours ... enough to be noticed by the Huffington Post:

If you haven't already signed to support this effort, go here: https://www.change.org/en-AU/petitions/syfy-network-save-almost-human?lang=en-AU

The new Facebook page:https://www.facebook.com/SaveAlmostHumanonFox has over 1500 members this morning. This group started a twitter rally last evening that hit over 3000 tweets in the first hour and only seemed to accelerate from there for hours afterward. Check out that page, 'follow' it and tell your friends and family about it, so they'll follow it, too. It's a numbers game in the social media world and enough numbers get the attention of the people with the money to help, like other network execs. Six million consistent viewers may not be a lot in FOX's world (though it was more than The Following got) but that's a whole lot for smaller networks like The CW, Showtime, OWN, TNT, USA and so on.

We have nothing to lose by trying folks. If it hurt to have Almost Human cancelled, if you'd like to see more of Dorian and John, Sandra and Rudy, Richard and Valerie, if you want to know what's behind the Wall and who put those memories in Dorian's head and why ... well, go sign up, tweet, help build the ground swell into a tsunami of fan support. At the very least, it will mean the world to the cast and crew that we cared enough, appreciated their work enough, to try.
